A spring workshop series celebrating the human voice and all its possibilities. Usually Saturday mornings in April and May, from 10am to noon. Workshop facilitators come from the worlds of music, dance, theatre, spoken word... Fun, freeing and fascinating!
Wild, irreverent, quirky, soulful and engaging - VOXYmusic connects us all to the heartbeat of communication, the human voice. The brain child of Kate Hammett-Vaughan and Carol Sawyer, VOXYmusic began in 2008 as a 10-week series of vocal improvisation workshops and has just celebrated it's fourth successful season!OPEN to everyone with an interest in improvisation!

Janet Warren: Higher Ground Women's Ensemble (North Vancouver)

Janet Warren
A well-known choral director, Janet Warren retired recently from teaching in North Vancouver schools for 35 years. She is presently enjoying work as a Faculty Advisor with UBC student teachers, as well as many opportunities for clinicing and adjudicating choral groups all over the province. She conducts the women’s choir Higher Ground, and has been featured in concerts with Monique Creber (Magic of Christmas, A Carpenters Christmas). Career highlights include conducting the provincial BCMEA Honour Vocal Jazz Ensemble, the BC Youth Choir, and being presented with awards from BCMEA and Sylvan Learning Center for teaching expertise. When not singing, she enjoys travel, dragon boating, and two awesome grand-daughters.

For A Song Community Choir (Vancouver)
A small choir (maximum 40 singers) rehearsing and performing three-part arrangements of jazz standards and some pop classics (Beatles, Joni Mitchell et al). Spring season runs February/March.
